We’re almost there, ready to spend a couple days in the kitchen making delicious food to enjoy with those we hold dear. Every good cook knows that the perfect meal starts with a clean kitchen. But this year, don’t just “clean” – “clean OUT!” Restore your kitchen to a clean, organized state by asking some simple questions:
Do I use it?
Do I love it?
Do I need it?
The goal here is to end up with dishes, cookware and utinsels that will serve your needs, and nothing that will cause unnecessary clutter. Don’t be stingy when deciding to toss, recycle or donate. What needs to go? Anything that’s chipped, stained, extra, or completely unused. Storage containers that have no lids, and lids that have no bottoms need to go, and if course any food that is expired or that you’ve had in the pantry for a year or more.
When it comes to cleaning out service and flatware, it’s ok if you don’t end up with matching sets of dishes, service, and flatware – ecclectic is IN! The key is to end up with ENOUGH and not too much. It’s ok to mix and match, and define your own style as you prepare to entertain and delight your guests during the holidays.
Of course you want sanitary conditions in your kitchen, but de-clutter is a great way to start to get ready to ENJOY the holiday festivities. Happy Cleaning, and Happy Holidays from your friends at National Dusters.
